Antwan D. Daring, 35, of Bethlehem, drowned in the Lehigh River near Waterfront Drive in Allentown on Monday afternoon, July 15, officials said. He was recovered by city firefighters and pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital, according to the coroner.
Daring's death was ruled an accident, officials added.
Friends and loved ones posted tributes in Daring's memory on Monday.
Antwan was a proud father of seven children and a tattoo artist, family friend F.R. told Daily Voice. "He loved motorcycles, cars, tattooing, fashion, music and being outdoorsy. He was hard working, funny, generous and humble," she said.
"Everyone who knew Twan knows he was always there for anyone who always needed help," his friend Mason Roman wrote on a GoFundMe he organized for his best friend. "So, I'm on here asking everyone to please help me and the family raise funds."
Within four hours of launch, the GoFundMe has raised more than $2,000.
Atwan was "a friend to thousands," F.R. told us. "He will be mourned for a very long time by many, and remembered forever by all who knew him."
"Twan was loved by so many and I know he would appreciate everyone's help to lay him peacefully," Roman, who is also organizing Antwan's funeral wrote.
